Social cohesion can simply be defined as “the glue that holds society together”. In a broader sense the cooperation with each other in order to survive and prosper.  This bondage between people can be termed as social cohesion so that we can refrain from the destructive theory of “survival of the fittest”. This situation vows us all to work together for the betterment of one another, of our cities, country, and the world at large. We all are in intense need of helping the poor as they are more likely to get affected with this deadly virus, government alone cannot fight this pandemic until and unless we are socially coherent.

The coronavirus is spreading day by day, and all communities will face the miseries. This situation may be over within a month, a year or till the availability of vaccines. The worth mentioning fact is that how we will fight this situation will be remembered in the coming years. We are in the making of history let’s make it a good one. This is a million-dollar question of what we can do as an individual and as a community ourselves and the people around us? The answer to this question is simply not to rely on the government solely. It is not only the duty of the government to provide aid to the masses, but we as a society also have to help them. We expect this from government and when they fail to do so we start criticizing them please know the duty of government is to provide funding to the concerned departments and to local administration and then they further work out on the next step which obviously requires time. Stay calm, have patience and don’t panic. Please?

Although, pleading from the nation’s side I feel sorry for common citizens of Pakistan who are in utter confusion. Amidst of this COVID-19 frenzy it is a pretty much-justified policy of the government “stay home, stay safe” but, on the other hand, masses are in the perplexing situation of the contradictions which lies in the statements of federal and provincial governments. People are already in chaos meanwhile provincial government is taking strict actions against people going out and gave orders to authorities to arrest them having said that the federal government, on the other hand, is not in favor of proper lockdown, also passes orders to the immediate release of prisoners arrested during the lockdown. Isn’t it a high time for both, provincial and the federal government to work hand in hand and chalk out effective strategies that are identical and alike?

Some of the suggestions which are to put here for the maintenance of a peaceful and prosperous situation include:
1- Stay home and don’t go out until required. For yourself and for your loved ones.
2- Follow the rules and respect the authorities they all care for you and hence working for you in the best possible manner.
3- When going out for help you ought to leave your cameras at home.
4- Create awareness amongst people who are in need of knowing things they don’t and avoid spreading fake or unverified information.
5- Maintain a safe distance, sanitize your hands if this seems luxury or unaffordable to you don’t worry washing your hands properly does the job.
6- Use best of this quarantine, master yourself at any skill, do some online courses or anything beneficial I agree a lot of things are locked down but let’s look at the ones which are not such as walking and doing work out at home is still open for all of us, books are free as well and family conversations are exempted from lockdown as well.
7- Instead of criticizing the government or any other who is doing anything for improvement of this situation do your part.
8- Don’t panic but if you feel symptoms of COVID-19 go for screening.
9- Use your resources where they are needed by proper check and balance ensuring the stuff and amount is going to the deserving and one person is not getting benefited from it twice by taking the right of the one in need.
10- We all need sincere efforts in this sheer frenzy. Do your part, volunteer yourself, donate if you can, every little attempt counts, and it counts a lot.

Let’s defend our homes and families from coronavirus by staying at homes and morally support each other to generate the utmost social cohesion.
